What Remains of Us has been co-created by writer David Lane and director Sita Calvert-Ennals, and developed in collaboration with Korea National University of Arts, researched with support from Doosan Art Center in Seoul, and supported by Arts Council England, the British Korean Society, Bath Spa Productions, Theatre Royal Plymouth and Bristol Old Vic. It is based upon the extraordinary real-life temporary reunions of separated North and South Korean family members, where loved ones who have not seen one another for over half a century are brought together for six meetings of two hours across just three days, before parting again forever.
