Cancellation of ‘Remembering the Korean War’ on 24th June

We are sorry to announce the cancellation of the ‘Remembering the Korean War’ event. The number of veterans who felt able to take part in the event planned for 24 June was not enough to make it viable, and we have had to make the decision to cancel.

We fully understand that the gathering years and the uncertainties engendered by Covid will mean that for many veterans the challenges of technology or of travel during this time were too daunting.

The Society is immensely grateful for the support it has received in planning for this event, above all from veterans themselves, but also from the National Army Museum, the Ministry of Defence, the Royal British Legion, the Royal Chelsea Hospital and numerous museums.

We believe that we found enormous resonance for the plans to honour our veterans and we will look for ways to harness the links we have made and show the respect the veterans deserve.

My father Geoffrey Whittaker served in Korea. He is content to be interviewed about his experience

Hello Caroline, thank you so much for getting in touch. If you would like to find out more about the interviews, or arrange this for your Father, please could you email: veterans@britishkoreansociety.org.uk and we’ll be able to progress this further. Best wishes, Lauren
