Guided Tour of the Westminster Area

Sue King, BKS member and a Blue Badge Guide, will be taking us on a guided tour

starting at 6pm and finishing at 7.30pm.

This will be followed by a meal at Ma Eum Korean Restaurant.

Churchill War Rooms and Norfolk House

This year we commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings in Normandy, the beginning of the Allied invasion of German-occupied Europe.

It was a calculated combination of aerial, naval, and ground forces, in order to liberate France and push back Adolf Hitler’s forces on the Western Front. It was the culmination of many long months of ferocious planning, and its success relied on the use of cunning plans to deceive the enemy about the allies true intentions.

Our walk will take us to several of the places where these plans were hatched including Churchill’s War Rooms and the site of Norfolk House.
