Guided Tour of the City

The London of Charles Dickens – His ‘Magic Lantern’

 

Thursday 29 July 2021, 6.15pm


Meeting point: Steps outside the West end of St Paul’s Cathedral

(nearest underground stations St Paul’s and Mansion House)


Charles wandered the streets of London on his own from an early age and observed the people who crossed his path. Please do come with us on a journey through the City’s streets to visit places he would have known and used as backgrounds for his novels’ memorable characters.

 

Sue King, BKS member and a Blue Badge Guide, will be taking us on a guided tour starting at 6.30pm and finishing at 8.00pm close to the Monument (nearest underground Monument and Bank stations).

 

 

Current government rules allow outdoor tours of up to 30 people, with social distancing between family bubbles.

 

If you would like to join us for an optional meal (your own cost) at the nearby K-Place Korean restaurant, St Mary at Hill, London EC3R 8EE  after the walk please indicate when you sign up.

 

We shall sit at tables which seat a maximum of six people per table.
